THE EASIEST WAY TO OUTSMART TEMPTATION

When you’re faced with a temptation, the best way to win is to not simply resist it, but to outsmart it. How do we do that? When saying no to temptation, replace “I can’t” with “I don’t”. Sugary desserts or cigarettes are begging you to take them . Instead of saying “I can’t eat dessert” or “I can’t smoke” say, “I don’t eat dessert” & “I don’t smoke”. Can you feel what just happened? “I don’t” turns refusing that temptation into your own character, providing you with a sense of empowerment and control. On the other hand, “I can’t” makes you feel like a victim, you’re being forced to do something you don’t want to do. “I don’t” is a choice. “I can’t” is a restriction. “I don’t” is empowering. “I can’t” is tiring. Tell me, which one would you choose?
